VICIOUS RUMORS Press release

On Thursday Dec 3rd Ronnie Stixx was officially let go from Vicious Rumors. After working together for 2 years the band felt he was not the right vocalist to record the new CD. Brian Allen from the group, Last Empire, has been confirmed to assume the lead vocal position for Vicious Rumors at their Dec 19, 2009 show at the Last Day Saloon in Santa Rosa with headliner, Death Angel and opener, Seeds of Hate. 

VR released the following statement regarding Brian, “We worked with him for a few days and Brian is AMAZING!! Our plan is to work with Brian for our show Dec 19th, and in the studio for the pre-production work for our new CD. We have had many interested singers approach us and hope to make our final decision for the line-up & new CD this January.”

VR will be back with a monster new CD and world Tour in 2010 and would like to thank their fans and friends for their 30 years of support!!

After VR's amazing sold out performance headlining the Headbangers Open Air Festival in 2009, VR is ready to rip it up again in Germany!

VR is headlining 9 shows in 5 country's before returning home to record their new studio album in follow up to their previous release "Warball". VR shows in Holland will feature special guest "Martyr" 

Vicious Rumors will finish their 9 date tour headlining the "Pounding Metal Fest" on Nov 21 at the "Live Factory" in Adelsheim Germany with 5 international bands.

VR to headline Headbanger's Open Air festival 2009

Vicious Rumors confirms the 2009 Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany. Geoff Thorpe, Larry Howe, Stephen Goodwin, Kiyoshi Morgan and Ronnie Stixx of VR will headline both the club and Thursday night at HOA.

In tribute to the bands 30 years of metal VR will welcome back Gary St Pierre, vocalist on the bands first album: Soldiers of the night.

Gary will sit in on classic songs from the first album at the Headbangers Open Air During VRs set on Thursday July 23rd exclusively as a special event. VR will also Headline the Pre-festival club show on July 22 at Planet Alsen in Itzehoe, Germany. Our current line up will play at all shows and we're all looking forward to have a great time with Gary on the classic stuff at HOA . VR has been kicking ass on the road in the USA and Europe in 2008 and will start recording their upcoming CD in Early 2009.

Vicious Rumors US & European dates

Metal warriors Vicious Rumors will return to the Kennel Club in Sacramento, Ca Sept. 13th. This is the first of 4 great shows in Northern California. VR rocks the Fat Cat on Sept, 14 in Modesto and Betty's rock club in Walnut Creek on Sept. 18th along with (Actor) Thomas Ian Nicholas and Woman. Then VR is this years special guest at the 3rd annual Monster fest Sept. 20th at Merced Fairgrounds in Merced, Ca along with Damage Inc., Izzy Osbourn plus 16 great bands.

Vicious Rumors, Laaz Rockit and Mudface team up for a brutal show at the Voodoo Lounge in San Jose, Ca Oct. 15th. Then its off to Europe as VR has been confirmed to Headline the Rocktemple in Kerkrade, NL on Nov. 8th and Mario's Metal Meeting 2 on Nov. 9th, In Tilburg, NL also on the bill is Wolf (Sweden) Shadow Keep (UK) Courageous (Germany) Arctic Flame (USA) VR has also just confirmed the Support slot on The Firewind Tour in Spain on Nov. 14th -17th.

We are very excited to return to Spain, we are looking forward to seeing all our fans again... Vicious Rumors will perform a very special classic set for the European tour songs that have not been performed in over 14 years from early albums such as Soldiers of the Night, Digital Dictator, Vicious Rumors, Welcome to the Ball and the latest release Warball. VR just finished a run of shows in Texas, California, Oregon, Nevada over the summer with Great reviews of the live show. This will conclude the 25 city 2008 Hellraiser Tour around the world. .

VR Announces New Lineup

Vicious Rumors new Axe man Kiyoshi Morgan completes the 2008 line up. Kiyo is a long time SF bay area pro playing lead guitar in several tribute bands covering styles of Slayer,Priest,Maiden & Alice in chains.With the support of Gibson Guitars and Sfarzo Strings Kiyo has found an identity in Vicious Rumors as an old school Rock and Metal guitarist with powerful anthem riffs and blistering yet musical leads.

"Kiyo just fit in and sounded great!! Our guitar styles blend really well and this guy can shred!! Our new line up is as strong as ever. I cant wait to unleash the new VR beast" Geoff Thorpe said on Kiyo and the new line up.

VR New Live Dates Announced

Vicious Rumors has just added these 4 killer shows. First a headline date at the Kennel Club in Sacramento on 3/22 and then a double header on 3/29. VR joins Testament, Sadus and Laaz Rockit for a crushing bay area show and line up. Then later that night VR will headline the Britannia Arms in Cupertino. Then back with Testament on 3/30. Don't miss the first shows with the killer new line up. The VR ball picks up speed with more dates coming soon.

PRESS RELEASE

2008 brings VR back in the studio for a new CD. Pre-production has been in full swing. 12 new songs will be recorded. The production team of Geoff Thorpe and Juan Urteaga at Trident studios in Pacheco Ca. will record and mix the new disk. After the high critical acclaim of the Warball Cd, VR strikes back with another killer classic power metal offering. Some of the tracks to look for are Murderball, From Fear to Eternity & Over the Edge.

New songs, New line up, New Cd . Look for VR back on tour this year.

The hunt for the next VR lead singer has been on. Warriors from all over the world have stepped up to the plate!! We have had some great vocalist try out and it looks like we have a hard choice to make. We plan to finish all the additions and announce our new singer next month. The VR machine keeps rolling as the ball picks up speed!! .Shows are being booked. We look forward to unleashing the new line up soon.
